Bistro Better

One sunny afternoon, a text message from a friend woke me up. She's inviting me for an impromptu food trip! Of course I can't say no because food trip is the name of my blog, LOL :D although I really want to say no because the weather is soooo hot that day. But I finally agreed since I will also attend an event at Glorietta that same afternoon.

We all agreed to meet up at Alphaland Southgate Mall and just commute since I already got the address of that food joint on a certain food blog. I don't remember what blog gave me that address and landmarks because it's wrong. We end up walking going to that place, and the weather is so hot that day. O_o

Finally we reach BISTRO BETTER, a small but fine looking restaurant in the busy Pasong Tamo Extension in Makati. According to my friends, Bistro Better serves home-cooked food fast and at affordable rates and I'm here to found out if this true or what.

I looked up for a definition of bistro online and this is what I found, "A bistro is a small restaurant serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting. Bistros are defined mostly by the foods they serve. Slow-cooked foods like braised meats are typical." Now I know why the place is small, because they can't be called as that if they're big :) But of course, this bistro is better.

The bistro is filled will lots of articulate art pieces and paintings which make me think that the owner of this place is somewhat old or just an old soul :) Anyway I think that's a compliment since it has a homely atmosphere, I feel like I'm just in the kitchen of our home and waiting for grandma to bring me her home-cooked meals.

The signage outside described Bistro Better as "home style cooked comfort food" and when our orders finally arrived, I can say that is true.

Roast Pork - P160.00
Slow cooked pork then thinly sliced and covered with generous amount of mushroom sauce. The pork is tender and the mushroom sauce is just perfect for my taste. The mixed vegetable as a side dish is just right too.

Chicken Alexandra - P140.00
It is a shredded chicken with corn in delicious white sauce and then topped with mashed potato. It's satisfactory and delicious, the chicken has the right amount of tenderness, not too soft.

Beef Morcon - P140.00
is a ground beef rolled up in strip of beef with a sweet onion sauce. This is my favorite of all the three we ordered. The serving of beef morcon is quite big too. That sweet onion sauce goes well with the tasty morcon. It taste just like my grandma's recipe! I feel hungry now while writing this :D

This is what we had for dessert! Banana Cake and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Sorry I forgot the price of this :[ Dining at Bistro Better for the first time is such a fun experience. Chit-chatting and bonding with friends while feasting on a delicious meals, makes the whole experience more memorable. :)
