That is offering to false Gods Since Muslims are worshipers of a false God. Hence, we Christians are forbidden to eat it. It literally sucks since more and more meats have the halal symbol. My favorite hotdogs now have the halal symbol.. So I can no longer eat them and need to find non-halal hotdogs.

DeleteHalal is an Arabic word that means "permissible." In terms of food, it means food that is permissible according to Islamic law. For a meat to be certified "halal," it cannot be a forbidden cut (such as meat from hindquarters) or animal (such as pork.)
The slaughter of a halal animal is called "zabihah" and there are certain guidelines to follow:
Allah's (God's) name must be pronounced during slaughter.
The instrument must be very sharp to ensure humane slaughter. The animal must be slit at the throat.
The animal must not be unconscious
The animal must be hung upside down and allowed to bleed dry. Eating blood is not halal.
These steps must be accomplished by a Muslim or the People of the Book (Christian or Jew.) Many observant Muslims find kosher meat acceptable.
The animal must have been fed a natural diet that did not contain animal by-products.
So be it if you guys don't like to eat meat or food that is halal... go and eat animals that are brutally killed and not handled well to be eaten... nobody is stopping you... f.y.i meat can be halal even if non muslim accomplished the slaughtering of the animal as long as it is done the proper way. Correct we Christians dont ate Halal foods because it was prayed over to their god and just an FYI: Halal representing to meat only because before they killed an animal they prayed it over as a sacrifice, but since that the manufacturers wants their goods to be purchased by our brother muslims they also put the halal logo to their products.

For clarification - halal is not a ritual but a procedure. Being halal-certified means the food produce underwent proper measures from handling, slaughtering, cleaning, processing if any, and packing. Halal procedures are stringent, and if followed to the letter will minimize if not totally eradicate contamination and its resulting effects on human consumption. It is not offered to idols either, or prayed over as some believe. It has nothing to do with religion or religious beliefs.I hope this serves to enlighten my Christian brothers and sisters.

Everyting under the Halal guidlines for Slaughtering animals is permissable.... EXCEPT that you supposedly "give thanks" to your god. A false god in the biblical sense. What I find repulsive about the whole thing, is that, we TRUE Christians are being told "better safe than sorry" when it comes to places like Jollibee. We don't know if it's HAHAL.. but what if it is...

Why? Because most of the food you are consuming now is already Halal like Unprocessed Fruits, Seafoods, Water, Rice, Bread bcoz (all flour millers in the Philippines were already Halal certified.
The pre-requisite of Halal Food is Tayyib meaning clean and good fit for Human consumption. Some of the manufacturers in the Philippines for Food, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Chemicals, Primary Packaging Material are Halal certified. They are thinking that if their products is not Halal then the market is limited for non-muslim market only.
But if the products are Halal certified then the market is for all consumers and you can also export your products to other countries without any barriers.

This is the crux of the situation...It is your lack of understanding the Doctrines of God, because you are Muslim.. You have been led down a revised branch of religion.. If you have problem with that, then ask God to bless your food. I think, those that are against Muslims should go out and find GOOD MUSLIM friends. Because, we christians is like them. they have denominations. Catholics, baptist, Victory, Born Again, etc. Some of them wants something. we too, christians are forbidden to eat BLOOD, but what are you eating? huh? always look at the mirror. maybe, try to respect your religion first, for them to respect you back. :-)

Halal food is similar to kosher in Judaism. So Muslims and Jews agree on this. Muslims and Jews do not offer these "permissible" food to idols. On the contrary, it's St Paul who allowed eating food offered to idols in spite of prohibition in the Bible. It's Christianity which deviated from the Abrahamic dietary laws and followed the teaching of St Paul which destroyed the Law against Jesus declaration that he will never destroy the Law in Matthew 5:17.

ReplyDeleteJust to make it really simple the above website clarifies that to be certified halal, the food must be blessed by a muslim. Muslims worship Allah, a moon god, a moon god, not God. It is very clear in the New Testament that we are not to eat things offered up to idols. Peter was told he could eat unclean things put before him, which is different. Unclean refers to pork, seafood, etc. Religious offerings by the muslims go far beyond unclean. When it comes to salvation leading to obedience it is best not to offend our creator, He is a jealous God. So stay away from Allah's food as best you can.
Also kosher food is what the Lord deemed clean in the old testament, there is no ritual involved in making it kosher.

Before criticizing others religion, enhance first your knowledge about the religion. Besides, this is not the site to talk about religion. It is all about halal food. There is nothing wrong about halal foods. And we all people eat halal food, we just dont have noticed it. Do you think the food you eat in some restaurants does'nt have halal additives? C'mon think before you talk againsts others food/products. We must remember we are in the modern world which are being influenzed by other foreign foods/products so let us be good to everyone. P.S. Hindi din po halal ang na kainin ang mga hayop o anumang pagkain katulad ng prutas na inialay sa mga diyus diyosan.

ReplyDeleteFYI...the God of Judaism, Christianity, AND ISLAM are all the same God, the God of Abraham...and to the person who says they read the original bible in Greek not the catholic bible. The "original manuscript" you are referring to was still edited in the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D, by the CATHOLIC CHURCH...unless you have copies of all the Gospels they did not include (in which case I would be seriously impressed and you should reveal them to the world)

ReplyDeleteWhile I do respect Islamic reuirements for Halal food, I find it disconcerting that they can't respect my requirement for food that has not been prayed over in the name of a god I dont recognize. Even instant coffee is halal, so I have to resort to homemade coffee made from toasted rice. I dont have concern with halal certified canned processed meat products though, since I dont consume meat.

ReplyDeleteI'm an Indonesian and a muslim. In Indonesia, all religion doesnt argue like that and doesnt make it complicated like christians in PH who doesnt want to eat Halal food. You know guys, Indonesia has 5 religions, Islam, Christian, Catholic, Buddha, and Hindu. And we live in peace. Im going to move and live in PH a few years later bcs I will get married with my boyfriend who is a muslim pinoy. But Im afraid now... Why are some christians so mean to muslim? :'( This is so sad.. I hope pinoys can respect others more in any aspect like Indonesian here... ;(
