SM Foodcourt Adds Creative Twist for Dine-In Safety

Face masks, social distancing and empty spaces don’t make for the best dining experience, but these measures are the standard protocol to ensure safe dinning.

With this, SM City Marilao Foodcourt adds creative approach by adding fun themes to its dine-in services concept. SM Foodcourt took cues from the Royal theme and transformed its dining area into elegantly embellished space to keep patrons safe while navigating the new normal.

“We wanted to bring the fun in dining and make our guests feel comfortable, safe and relaxed while abiding to the regulations set by IATF and DTI” shares SM City Marilao Mall Manager Emmanuel Gatmaitan.

To help enforce safe distancing measures, a number of life-size toy soldiers were placed to demonstrate new seating arrangements. These toy soldiers were also introduced to dining experience to keep patrons company as they dine in.  They were also decorated with face masks to remind both patrons and workers to stay safe while in the mall premises.

More than aesthetic, SM City Marilao Foodcourt also complemented its contactless sanitizer dispenser by adding Victorian lamp posts and red carpet at the entrance to encourage shoppers to stop and take time to sanitize hands. Foodcourt signages are also visible to reiterate one-way traffic flow and to remind the 3-step dining etiquette: to buy food from mall restaurant, to stay for a quick bite, and to clean as you go

As the mall continues to bolster its presence online, SM also makes sure that its physical stores implement and follow safety measures by transforming its stores into safe innovative community spaces, enforcing high-standard hygiene and health protocols to ensure every customer’s well-being.

“Safety and hygiene measures don’t need to be obstacle with the prevailing new norm” shares SM City Assistant Marilao Mall Manager Janette Aguilera.
