McCormick Unveils its first Facebook App

McCormick unveils today its first Facebook app called McCormick Flavor HQ which extends to a mobile website. Flavor HQ is a unique and practical app that features recipes containing McCormick's herbs and spices. The recipes range from appetizers to mains to desserts and even beverages.

Why not start your wonderful flavor exploration with a healthy appetizer of Herb Crouton Salad. Follow it with a flavorful serving of Gingered Chicken with Mango and Cilantro. Complete the meal with Rosemary Chocomint Cookies and wash it all down with Mexican Coffee.

While the recipe names connote a wealth of flavorful goodness, little is it known that the featured recipes also have a good impact on our overall health. Healthy herbs and spices, also known as the McCormick Super Spices, are frequently highlighted to showcase that these dishes are not only packed with good flavor, but are also good for you.

In line with McCormick's tagline Brings Passion to Flavor, Flavor HQ pushes users to be creative and to take inspiration from the collection of recipes featured so they can create their own. Users who create their own recipes can submit them for a chance to be published in the app. User uploads would be reviewed by McCormick for chance of getting rewarded with a McCormick gift pack.

Other features of the app includes bookmarking favorite recipes, adding a personal twist by putting in notes on digital index cards and did we mention that recipes are also easily sharable? That makes it more fun to share recipes with friends.

This effort will extend all the way to the herbs and spices aisle of grocery stores – where the trip down the flavor lane begins. Shoppers will be able to refer to the Flavor HQ recipes via a mobile website. Access to the site (from any smart phone) will be facilitated via QR codes on point-of-sale materials. By scanning those codes using their phone camera, shoppers will be taken to the site.

There, they will be able to quickly check the composition of a specific recipe or get some last minute cooking inspiration like adding a pinch of Rosemary to Chocomint Cookies or Ice Tea!
