Filipinos and Mexicans share many traditions and customs, which derive from ties established over 400 years. The Philippines and Mexico were dominated by the Spanish crown.
In 1521, Hernán Cortés conquered the Aztec empire; and in the same year, Ferdinand Magellan travelled to Asia and claimed the Philippine Islands.

Many Nahuatl words were adopted and popularized in the Philippines, such as Tianggui (market fair) and Zapote (a fruit).
There's also similarities between Filipino and Mexican food. Philippines has tamales, leche flan and sweet breads like ensaimada which are also quite popular in Mexico.

That's why it's not surprising that Mexican restaurant like FIERY STYLE Southwestern Flaming Grill is flourishing here in the Philippines. Fiery Style is a Southwestern Tex Mex restaurant serving unique & deliciously made recipes. They currently have 10 branches in Metro Manila & Metro South. The taste is familiar to the Filipino palate and we all love big servings! They recently open their 10th store and their first ever franchised branch in Eastwood Mall.
The franchise owner revealed to us during the grand opening that they first encountered FIERY STYLE when they dined in a Fiery style branch Mall of Asia, they liked it, and the rest is history.
He aims to open another franchised branch in Metro Manila this year. Fiery Style's goal is to have 25 branches this 2019.
Choices of corn chips or potato chips, topped with nacho cheese sauce, guacamole, tomato salsa, refried heans, black olives, jalapeños and sour cream & choices of grilled jalapeño lime chicken, Mexican chili beef, BBQ pulled pork or Barbecued beef brisket. La Sorpresa!
